Abortion and its Aftermath

Did you guys see this statement by the President on Roe v. Wade Anniversary:
"As we mark the 39th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we must remember that this Supreme Court decision not only protects a woman’s health and reproductive freedom, but also affirms a broader principle: that government should not intrude on private family matters. I remain committed to protecting a woman’s right to choose and this fundamental constitutional right. While this is a sensitive and often divisive issue- no matter what our views, we must stay united in our determination to prevent unintended pregnancies, support pregnant woman and mothers, reduce the need for abortion, encourage healthy relationships, and promote adoption. And as we remember this historic anniversary, we must also continue our efforts to ensure that our daughters have the same rights, freedoms, and opportunities as our sons to fulfill their dreams."
Let me draw out one part:
‎"And as we remember this historic anniversary, we must also continue our efforts to ensure that our daughters have the same rights, freedoms, and opportunities as our sons to fulfill their dreams."
... by killing both our sons and our daughters!? Does these rights suddenly become less urgent if the human beings in question are unborn?

If you are pro-choice and yet if you both like where the Pres. said we should 'promote adoption', then I would like to ask you this: do you agree? If so, what are you doing to help promote it? Or is telling anyone who is pro-life they need to adopt children as far as it goes for you?

Here's the interesting thing: abortion advocates SAY they are pro-CHOICE, as in they support the mom's right to either terminate or allow the pregnancy. If this is true, that means you are also responsible for the children who have been born, not just pro-lifers. It me incenses me to no end when abortion advocates act if only pro-lifers have a responsibility to those that have been born.

Furthermore, the veracity of the pro-life case does not rest on any pro-lifers activity or lack thereof. Either tiny human beings are persons with a right to life or not. If the former, we must protect them, if they latter, we can do with them as we will.

It is sad to see how abortion advocates are so beholden to the status quo of dehumanizing the unborn. I think this lack of moral clarity in their own minds makes them think that everyone should be just as confused as they are - this is why they are indignant when pro-lifers are so adamant that the unborn are persons and should have the right to life. Moral fog and a constant concern on material things and economic comfort did not serve us well in the debates about slavery and they do not serve us well here. Just imagine this argument: "If it is unclear whether or not a black man is a full person or not, then we should exercise great caution when considering enslaving one."

I currently know many single mothers. We do everything we can to help them - especially being their true friends. I and some of my friends have been involved with helping women think through their real options before they have an abortion - it is not easy but all I see Planned Parenthood and 'friends' do is offer one option -abortion- this is why they do not allow women to see ultrasound images or aborted babies (from the FIRST trimester).

I also know many women who have had an abortion - I have even seen them go through a healing process and even been part of it. I don't know why you keep saying pro-lifers forsake women who have abortions - on the contrary, we counsel them and help them deal with all the mental, spiritual, and sometimes physical turmoil they go through. This is yet one more area where the abortion lobby fails - pro-aborts do little to nothing to help post-abort women. They may say they and give lip service but the reality is that it is not a priority for them. In fact, nightmares and the like are an embarrassment to the pro-abort crowd. We believe in helping. We believe in forgiveness and restoration. What does the pro-abort crowd offer?

My point: we clean up the pro-abort crowd's bloody mess!
